ImpressionsCPM: The Old Industry Standard The ad tag or beacon is called from an Ad Server. Current industry standards measure the “Impression” here. With the impression logged, the ad is then delivered and makes its journey to a web page. The assumption is made that the ad was delivered and viewable.
Viewable ImpressionsCPMV: The New Industry Standard RealVu’s technology renders on the page before the ad is requested, then if the space is viewable requests a selected advertisement for delivery and serves the ad. Messages are sent directly from the web page to a database and server log files are not used.
